Best Wishes Card - TOMIC Inspiration

Hi all. This week TOMIC has an inspirational challenge- Be inspired by the following picture (time, colours, shapes) and make a Get Well or Best Wishes Card. The clocks in the picture are Mora clock from the town of Mora in Dalarna Province in Sweden; production of these clocks are dated in late 18th century to 19th century.

So, here's my take of the inspiration challenge.  The card measures 6" x 4 1/2". I distressed most elements with stitches (faux and real), distress ink, chalk ink, and distressing tool. The designer paper is from Prima and Bo Bunny. Dies used here are Magnolia DooHickey, Memory Box, and Spellbinder dies.

I'd like to thank you for all your lovely comments, I appreciate them very much. Hope you enjoy today's visit. Until next time,

Hugs,
Katie

Rose for You

Morning all. I just finished this card to enter in Crafty Individuals April challenge- Time for Summer. Initially, I envisioned the card as a vase with a rose in it. After adding the Crafty Individual stamp image, it kind of looked like the lady's dress. I will give this card to my mom for Mother's Day on May 13.

The card measures 8 1/5" x 5" when folded flat. I dry embossed the heart shaped die-cut lightly. I stamped and heat embossed the roses with white embossing powder on vellum and colored the image with markers. I then fussy cut out the rose images and layer them together. When the card is folded into <> shape, the rose pops into 3D. I also heat embossed the background with some French script.
The lady with a bird stamp is from Crafty Individuals.

Hope you enjoy this visit and thanks very much for stopping by.

Hugs,
Katie

Baby Wall Hanging

Morning all. I had a busy week last week at work and home so didn't get much time to play with my stamps.

TOMIC has a great challenge this week, DooHickey's and Mini World. A Doo Hickey tag must be the base of your project but you are allowed to place it on a bigger base + Use any stamp from Magnolia mini world on it. I just bought these cute stamps lately and decided to make a baby wall hanging. I also started a pink baby wall hanging with mini Tilda baby but it is still in progress so I will post it later.

For this wall hanging, I used Magnolia DooHickey So Wrapped Heart folded tag and mini baby Edwin. I cut out 2 tags and trimmed off the folded tag part. I then glued the hearts together to make the 2 bases for the wall hanging. The moon is from the Magnolia Sweet Crazy Love collection. I stamped it on Magnolia DP and fussy cut out the image; then, I mounted the image on 2 layers of cardstock and trimmed to fit. I joined the 3 base pieces with some 6mm jump rings and decorated with ribbons, flowers and crystals. I also added polar white Flower Soft on the clouds where baby Edwin is sitting on. The finished dimension is 12" long x 3 1/2" wide.

Thanks very much for stopping by and have a great week.

Hugs,
Katie

Criss Cross Card + Princes and Princesses

Happy Sunday everyone! Just a quick post so I can get on with my chores and maybe get out to enjoy the spring flowers. It's mix sun and cloud today, but as long as it doesn't rain, I am happy.

This week TOMIC's challenge topic is Criss Cross card + Princes and Princesses. I made a rectangular criss cross card instead of a square one. While sketching the design, I decided to transform it into a little princess dress.

The card measures 6 1/2 x 3". I colored the Tilda Reaching for Stars image with Copic markers. Designer paper is from Magnolia. Dies used here are Magnolia DooHickey dies, Stampin'Up die, and Tim Holtz die (small easel for the back of the card).

Thanks for visiting today.

Sail Away - Shabby Book Card

Morning all. Fashionable Stamping Challenges is calling for a nautical theme. Instead of making a masculine card, I decided to try a more faminine shabby look. Since there were several stamp images I wanted to use, I decided to make a book card to fit them all in.

The card measures 5 1/2 x 5 x 1". I fussy-cut out the light house from a 6x6 Webster's Pages DP and used it for decoration. I stamped the sail boat on vellum and colored it with Momento markers. The sheer fabric flower is handmade, see previous post here.

Designer paper is from Webster's Pages and dies used are from Memory Box and Spellbinders.

Hope you enjoy today's visit and thanks for all your sweet comments. Until next time, have a wonderful day.

Hugs,
Katie

Spring Fairy

Good afternoon. Trust you all had a wonderful Easter. We had a few lovely sunny days here in Vancouver over Easter weekend and now is back to the grey raining days again.

One of the ladies I used to work with in our company is retiring end of month. I am always fond of her needle-work skills and her attention to details. She is also an avid gardener. I made this spring fairy card for her retirement.

This is a shaped easel card using Webster's Pages diecut DP. The fairy image is a photo stamp from Stampsmith. I stamped it on glossy paper with Jet Black Archival ink and lightly colored the dress and wings with pastel green and blue. Dies used here are from Memory Box and Spellbinders.

I made the 4 larger flowers. I love WP's princess petals but they are just too big for cards. Since I have some WP lace and rolls of sheer ribbons I bought from dollar stores and Hallmark store, I decided to make my own sheer fabric petals. It is best to use materials with synthetic content so when you singe the petal edge over tealight/candle flame, it will curl up to form cup shape.  The dimension of my knockoff princess petals ranges from 1" to 1 3/4" in diameter. So, give this a try, it is quite easy.

Thanks very much for stopping by, and have a great afternoon.

Katie

Happy Easter!

Morning all and Happy Easter to you and your family! I accidently deleted this post while trying to edit the date and time for publishing; I always forget something. I had to re-enter everything and I appologize if it landed on your deshboard twice.

I made this mini Easter card/treat box for my son. He's 13 and still believes in Easter Bunny.  I wonder what Mr. Bunny is going to bring him this year:).

The card measures about 3"x3". I colored the mini Tilda bunny with Copic markers and drew a couple of carrots to go with it. The easel card is mounted on a match box which I cut out using Stampin'Up match-box die (by Sizzix). The little nest is from Prima.

I want to thank you for your sweet comments and wish you a wonderful Easter weekend.

Hugs.

A Springtime Birthday Card

Morning all. Today is my DH's birthday. I wanted to make a special springtime-theme card for him and this is what I came up with. It took a while to make but at the end it was worth the effort.

The card folds out to a 3D garden scene with Edwin sitting on a tree trunk. I have made this type of cards before with Christmas scenes, very pretty I think LOL. I will make some more and post them later.

I colored the images with Copic markers. Dies used here are Magnolia DooHickey dies. Designer paper are from Memory Box and Magnolia.

Hope you enjoy this visit.

Hugs,
Katie

Fashionable Easter Treat Box

Good evening all. I made another carrot treat box with a different twist. I used pastel colors and decorated the box with a mini chip board dress form. I attached a piece of lace that looks like a pretty dress to the chip board. The only stamping I did was the sentiment. Dies used are from Spellbinder, Memory Box and SU.

Thanks for stopping by.
