Tilda with Heart Flowers - 3rd GDT Card for MDUC

Hi Everyone!
This week just flied by so quickly, it's weekend already.
Today I have a tag card to share with you ~
my 3rd guest design card for MDUC.

The theme for this week's new challenge is Birthstone ~
Use your own birthstone as the main color of your creation.

I was born in February so amethyst is my birthstone.
I love color purple but somehow I seldom use it in my paper crafts.
To add more challenge for myself, I decided to use
orange and yellow, another colors I rarely use.

This tag card measures 6.25"(H) x 4.25"(W).
I used Spellbinder Petite Oval, Resplendent and
Curved Rectangle dies to cut the frames.

I water colored Summer Flower Tilda and Heart Flowers
with TH Distress Inks.
I used Viva Decor Glitter Gel and Pearl Pen
to add more sparkles to the images.

The DP is from Webster's Pages.
I used Magnolia DooHickey dies to cut the dragonfly,
flowers, swirls, fence, and grass.
I attached a TH small easel die cut to the back of
the card to prop it upright for display.

I think these 3 colors are in harmony :^)
What do you think?
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Hope you'll hop over to MDUC to see all the lovely
creations by the designer team.

Hugs,
Katie

Santa's coming to town- 2nd GDT card for MDUC

Hello Everyone!
I have a tag card to share with you today.
I won a guest design spot for October at MDUC
and this is my 2nd GDT card.

Our new challenge this week is ~
Fa La La La - Get inspired by a song

My card was inspired by the song ~ Santa is coming to town.
I used Edwin With Sack from the newest Magnolia
collection ~ A Christmas Story.

I water colored Edwin and fussy cut out the image before
adding glitters to the fur trims on the coat and hat.
However, my camera never seems to pick up any sparkles.

The card measures 6"(H) x 5"(W).
I attached a TH small easel on the back of the card
so it can stand upright for display.
The heart shaped tag is a mini Christmas wish list.

DPs are from Webster's Pages and Stampin'Up.
Dies and punch are Magnolia DooHickey, Memory Box and MS.
The Poinsettia is handmade using Magnolia die cuts.
I will post a tutorial on how to make these
water-distressed poinsettia in a future post.

Hope you enjoy this visit and thanks for stopping by.
Don't forget to hop over to MDUC to see
all the beautiful creations by the DT.

U Rock- Fashionista Challenge DT Card

Hi Everyone!

Today we have a new challenge for you at Fashionista.
The theme is Anything Goes
sponsored by Kenny K.

For my DT card, I used Anime Game Kid as the focal image.
The side step card measures 6"(W) x 5.5"(W).

I colored the digi image with Copic markers.
I distressed most paper edges with distressing tool,
Distress Ink, and chalk ink.

I decorated the card with jute ribbon, baker's twine,
blings, punch-outs, die-cuts and a paper clip.
I also decorated the side step with magazine cut-outs
of mini Yu-Gi-Oh cards.

My son and his buddies are nuts about Yu-Gi-Oh cards.
Whenever they get together to play,
they are into this card game for hours.

When I saw this digi, right away I thought
it would be perfect for my son or his card friends.

DPs are from Magnolia and Basic Grey.
Dies are from Stampin'Up and Spellbinder.
Punches are Stampin'Up and Fiskar.

Thanks for stopping by.
I would love it if you can play along with us at Fashionista Challenge
and see my teammates' fabulous creations.

Hugs,
Katie

Magician Boy

Hi Everyone!
Hope you all had a great weekend.

My family have been sick with a nasty flu for 2 weeks now.
Luckily I am fine, keeping my fingers cross.

Today, I have a Halloween card to share with you.
I have used the sketch from The Sketchy Challenges for this card.
The image is LOTV's Abracadabra.

I water colored the image with TH distress inks and re-inkers.
I used Viva Decor pearl pen and glitter gel
to add some blings around the image.

The card measures 5.5" x 5.5".
The DP and dies are from Memory Box.
The little bats are Stampin'Up stamp.

I top stitched the main image and
distressed most paper edges with a distressing tool.

Hope you enjoy this visit and thanks for stopping by.

Hugs,
Katie

Snow Globe Shaker Card- MDUC Guest Design

Happy Sunday Everyone!

A week ago I won a guest design spot over at MDUC
I was invited to participate in a brand new challenge starting today .
The theme is Shaker Card.
We want you to make part of your card a shaker.

I have never made a shaker card before and
here's my 1st attempt of a shaker card.

The card measures 5.5"(H) x 7"(W) x 1.5"(D).
I made a snow globe card with one side a shaker
and the other side a shadow box.

The shaker is 1/2" deep. I stamped and water colored
Magnolia Winter Night background, and added
some FlowerSoft white snow flakes in
between the window sheet
and the background.

I water colored Edwin on Christmas Eve.
I used various die cuts, snowflake punch-outs, pom pom ribbon,
pearls, and blings to complete the scene.

When you turn the snow globe around,
it shows a shadow box Christmas ornament winter scene
with Edwin on sled and Tilda Santa's Little Helper.
I colored Edwin and Tilda with Copic markers.

I added a few accordion folds to join the 2 sides together.
The card can then be fold flat for mailing.

DPs are from Magnolia and Basic Grey.
Dies and punches are from Magnolia, Memory Box,
Tim Holtz, Spellbinder, and Martha Stewart.

I had fun making this card and will make a few more,
probably only one side though :^)

Thanks very much for stopping by.
Hope you will hop over to MDUC to see all the wonderful
DT creations and join in the fun!

Hugs,
Katie

Hope you all had a great weekend and a wonderful start for the week.
It's Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada,
so we get an extra day off.

A Christmas card for boys.

I used CLP October sketch for my layout.
The image is LOTV Ski Jump,
and the sentiment is also from LOTV.

I stamped the image with StazOn ink and
water colored it with TH Distress Inks.
I added some liquid pearls, glitters,
and Flowersoft snow.

The card measures 5.5" x 5.5".
DPs are Memory Box and Magnolia.
Snowflake wreath die is Memory Box.
The poinsettia is handmade using Magnolia die cuts.
I cut out the little pom poms from pom pom ribbon
and used them to decorate the top edge.

Organza Gift Bag/ eReader Bag

Hi Everyone!
A warm welcome to my new followers.
And many thanks to all of you for visiting my blog.
Your loving comments are my inspirations.

I have a clean and simple creation to share with you today ~
an altered gift bag .

I have this plain organza bag in my stash for a couple of years.
I hate throwing things away, especially something
like this so sheer and dainty.
I decided to dress it up a little with lace,
ribbons, and pearls.

The organza bag measures 10"(H) x 5"(W).
It is big enough to be used as an e-Reader carrying bag.

I inked up the stamp with Archival Ink and
stamped it on TAP (Transfer Artist Paper).
I transferred the image to fine cotton cloth following
the TAP package instruction.
This is the first time I used TAP and am impressed
how easy it is to ink up the paper and
the image turned out really sharp.

I used ribbon and lace cutouts to frame the stamp image.
I also sewed a strip of white rose ribbon along the draw string edge
and the tie-ends to add some interest.
I left the image uncolored to keep it clean and simple.

I am happy with the result and would like to make more
carrying bag/pouches/gift bags using TAP.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Hugs,
Katie
