Hi Everyone!

Once again it's time for a new challenge at Marvelous Magnolia.
The new challenge theme is Monochrome.
We would like to see your creations in colors of a single hue.

For my DT card, I chose the neutral tone ~ beige, kraft, and brown.

The tag card measures 6" x 4".
I distressed paper edges with Distress Tool, Distress Ink, and chalk ink.
I also top stitched the image and DP panels.
I decorated the card with ribbons, organza ribbon roses, lace, pearls,
chip board, twine, charm, and snowflake punch-outs.

I water colored Tilda With Violin with Walnut Stain DI.
I  added glitters on the wings and stamped
tiny snowflakes and added some pearl drops in the background.

Dies and punches used are from Spellbinders, Magnolia,
Memory Box,Tim Holtz, and Martha Stewart.
DPs are Pion Designs.
The music notes are Dusty Attic chip board.
Sentiment is from Stampin'Up.

I used CLP's November sketch for my LO.

Monochromatic White Ophelia

Hello Everyone!
Hope you all have had a lovely weekend.

Today I have a fabric project to share with you.
I made this to enter in the Stampsmith Monochromatic White Challenge.
It is a small pouch, measuring 3.5" x 5.5" (including the lace).
It can be used as a jewelry pouch or a change purse.

The image I used is Ophelia from Stampsmith.
I stamped the image on TAP paper and then ironed it on fine cotton fabric.
I framed the image with some laces and a few pearls.

I machine stitched the linen pouch and lined it with cotton fabric.
I added some laces, organza rose ribbon, seam binding ribbon,
pearls and buttons to dress up the pouch.

I sewed a couple of snap-closure buttons along the top opening
which can be closed flat or like a pyramid.

Thanks so much for stopping by
and
wish you all a lovely week.

Hugs,
Katie

Vintage Christmas Fabric Projects

Hi Everyone!

Today I have a couple of vintage Christmas projects to share with you.
I  picked up some oval wooden boxes at Michaels for $1.50/ea;
they are perfect size for altered Christmas gift boxes.

I was in the mood of making fabric/lace altered projects
and these are what I came up with.

The oval wooden box measures 4.25" x 2.5" x 2.5".
I stamped Crafty Individuals-332 image on TAP paper with
brown StazOn ink and then ironed on muslin fabric.
I added glitter gel on the snowflakes to give some sparkles.

I hand and machine stitched various laces and pearls to frame the image.
I layered a piece of light-weight batting material under the muslin to
give some padding and depth before mounting it on to the lid.
I covered the rim with a piece of seam binding to conceal
the frayed edges of muslin and then with lace.

I covered the side and bottom of the box with DP from Magnolia
and attached a strip of lace at the base.
I added tiny pearls on the lace using Viva Decor Pearl Pen.

I was surprised it didn't take me very long to alter this box,
less time than making a card :^)

I also made a little lace cone ornament/ gift bag.
The cone is 6.5" long without the tassel.

The base of the cone is a piece of pink Magnolia DP.
I cut out a pie shape using a compass- 6" radius and a 70 degree angle,
made the paper cone and covered it with lace.

I decorated the cone with an musical angel image (CI-154 stamped on
TAP and transferred onto muslin), tiny pom pom ribbon,
more laces, appliques, pearls and a tassel.
I attached a crystal bead string so it can be hung up for display.

These are easy and fun projects to make and great for Christmas giveaway.
Why not give it a try.
If you have any question, just drop me a line.

Hope you enjoyed this visit.

Hugs,
Katie

Christmas Nutcracker- DT Card for Fashionista Challenge #9

Hi Everyone!
Before I announce our new challenge at Fashionista Challenge,
I would like to welcome my new followers and also
thank all of you for leaving me lovely comments.
Your comments are my inspirations!

The theme for Fashionista Challenge #9 is Blue Christmas.
We would like to see Christmas creations using blue as the MAIN color.
Our sponsor is Saturated Canary.

For my DT card, I chose SC Christmas Nutcracker digi as the main image.
Although I have seen many beautiful cards made with SC images,
I have never colored one till now.
I must say Christa's drawings are simply gorgeous and very detailed
which I find very helpful when it comes to coloring.

The image is colored with Copic markers.
Not sure why the dress looks streaky in the photo.
I added tiny pearls and stamped little snow flakes around the images.
I also added some glitters on the dress and box.

The LO is from CLP's November challenge.
I have rotated the left and right sides of the LO for my card.

DPs used here are Stampin'Up and Magnolia.
Dies are from Spellbinder, Tim Holtz, Memory Box and Magnolia.
Sentiment and punches are from Stampin'Up.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
I would love it if you can join in the challenge and
check out my teamies gorgeous creations at Fashionista Challenge.

Hugs,
Katie

Little Christmas Ornaments- MDUC GDT #4

Hi Everyone!

Today I have a couple of Christmas ornaments to share with you.
I have made them for my last GDT project at MDUC.
The theme for this week's new challenge is
Christmas Ornament

These cone-shaped Christmas ornaments can be hung
on Christmas tree or anywhere you wish.
They can also be filled with small gifts and/or treats.

The cones are made of  DPs- a good way to use my DP collections.
I used a compass to draw a pie shape on the DP
with 5.5" radius and a 70 degree angle.
If you use a 12"x12" DP, you can draw a full circle
and cut out 5 pie-shaped pieces.

I cut out some paper doily strips and attached them to the top of the cones.
I have split the CS into 2 layers (before cutting) to make the paper more pliable.
I also added some laces to hide the seams and for decoration.

I colored Angel Tilda with Copic markers and added
some glitters on the halos and wings.
I then framed the image with a sparkly scalloped oval die cut.

To complete the hanging, I added some cheese cloth,
a lace applique, a tassel, a star charm,
and a handmade poinsettia.

I attached a couple of small organza ribbon roses on
each end of the hanging string to hide the knots.

I am going to make a bunch of these ornaments and
stuff them with small gifts and treats.

Hope you enjoy this visit.
Don't forget to hop over to MDUC to check out the DT creations
and join in the Christmas Ornament challenge.

Hugs,
Katie

An Autumn Welcome ~ Marvelous Magnolia DT Card

Hiya, welcome to my blog.
Autumn has settled in Vancouver for a few weeks now.
We have had lots and lots of rain so far.
But when the weather is sunny, the autumn scene is quite spectacular in Vancouver.

Today is Marvelous Magnolia's 1st challenge and the theme is
Anything Goes.

Our sponsor for this challenge is Magnolia-licious.

My DT card is an Autumn Welcome Card to
welcoming you all to visit the new Magnolia challenge blog
and hope you will join in the fun.

The 2-step card measures 5.5"(W) x 6"(H).
To make the background scene look distant and to add some interest,
I used On The Edge Doily die from TH to cut the circular frame.
I added a small heart tag tugged under the doilies at the top.

I colored the background, mushrooms and Tilda with Copic markers.
I have not used my Copics for quite some time,
my Copic coloring technique is getting a little rusty :^).

I fussy cut out the images and used them to decorate the scene.
Heart swirl, dragon fly, fence, grass, and heart tag dies used here
are Magnolia DooHickey dies.

All the Magolia stamps and DooHickey dies used in this project
are available at Magnolia-licious store.
The store owner, Diana, offers excellent customer service
and your orders are always processed and shipped quickly.
How do I know that? Because I am a regular customer at Diana's store.

I hope you enjoy this visit.
I would love it if you hop over to Marvelous Magnolia to
see all my teamies' gorgeous creations and join in the challenge.

Hugs,
Katie

Christmas Gift Set - GDT Projects for LLC

Hi Everyone!
Today, I have a Christmas card and a gift project to share with you.
I was invited by Sandy Mathis to guest design for
Live & Love Crafts' November challenge.
This month's theme is Christmas.

Live & Love Crafts' Inspiration and Challenge Blog

LLC store is a UK based online store, specializing in
vintage and shabby chic craft supplies.
I have used a few items available at LLC store for this project.

The card measures 6" x 6".

The photo stamp is Vintage Christmas from Stempelglede.
I stamped the image on glossy paper with Jet Black Archival Ink.

The LO is from The Sketchy Challenge's sketch #35.

I used a Memory Box die cut to frame the image,
did some top stitching and added postage marks on the DP.
I also added some Kort & Godt Decoration Berries in the top left corner.
The DPs are Waiting for Santa and Silent Night from Pion Design.
Both decoration berries and DPs are available at LLC store.

I also made a satin pouch sized for a cell phone/ipod touch.
The image was stamped on TAP (Transfer Artist Paper) with AI
and then ironed on a piece of fine cotton cloth.
I sewed the image on satin fabric and framed it with laces.
I then assembled the satin pouch and added a
pearl button closure at the left side.
The rhinestone lace is available at LLC store.

I quite like the satin pouch and will make a few more for Christmas give-away,
the ipod touch will not be included :^).

Hope you enjoy this visit and I would love it if you hop over
to Live & Love Crafts to see the DT creations
and join in the Christmas challenge.
And don't forget to visit LLC store as well,
Sandy has lots of gorgeous products for your crafting needs.
