Birthday Card- Ribbon Girls Magnolia Only DT Card

Happy Sunday Everyone!

Today is the last Sunday of the month and
time for a brand new Magnolia Only Challenge over at
The theme is an easy one ~ Anything Goes.

For my DT creation, I made a birthday card
using New Year Edwin from the Christmas Story Collection.
I love this image and planned to use it for birthdays and
other celebrations when I bought it.

I water colored Edwin with DI ink pads.
I much prefer coloring with DI ink pads than re-inkers as
I find I have better control of the color intensity using the ink pads.

I used CLP February's Sketch for my layout and
Go Kreate Large Frilly #10 die to cut the card base.
Other dies I used are Memory Box and Spellbinders.
The "Happy Birthday" sentiment is from LOTV.
The DP is from Pion Design's For Father Collection.

I also used the following embellishments from the

20mm Cream Cotton Fan Pattern Lace, 38mm Ivory Guipure Lace,
8mm Cream Vintage Style Fine Scallop Lace,
3mm Aqua Sparkle Bead String, Natural Button Twine,
Cream and Blue Seam Binding Ribbons,
White Sweetheart Blossom

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you will
join in the challenge at The Ribbon Girl
and win great prizes.

Hugs,
Katie

DPs, flowers, and Magnolia DooHickey diecuts.

The friendship recipe was from the internet , author unknown.

Gift of Love

Hello blogging friends!
I have a creation to share with you today.

Since my last post "Friends in Paris", I still had all my Pion Designs DPs on
my desk and I was in the mood of making something vintage,
so I decided to make an altered project.

Over the years I have saved a few whisky canisters.
They are nice sturdy canisters, perfect for
storing knitting needles or candles.
Or, they can be altered and used to put a
bottle of wine for a friend.

Pion Designs Blog is having a Valentine's theme challenge til Feb 12.
It is a perfect chance to dress up this canister with
gorgeous Pion Designs papers.

The DPs I used are from the following collections:
Studio of Memories
From My Heart II
From Granma's Attic (girl image)

This is the front view of the altered canister.

And this is the rear view of the altered canister.
I added a pocket for a heart tag.
I have stamped the pocket with a Magnolia background stamp.

I decorated with laces, pearls, yarn, ribbon, Prima trinket,
Memory Box diecut, and WOC flowers.
I added a Tim Holtz Clock Key on the lid to
make it easier to lift the metal lid.

The following supplies are available at the Ribbon Girl Shop:
18mm cream fine vintage style cluny lace
8mm cream fine vintage style scallop lace
Ivory looped organza trim
WOC 20mm pale pink open roses
4mm white pearl bead string

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful week!

Hugs,
Katie

Friends in Paris

Hi Everyone!
Today I have a card to share with you.

I have not made any vintage card for quite some time, so
I challenge myself to make a masculine vintage card
to showcase friendship and love
for month of February.

I used the layout from LLC February Challenge- Tina's Sketch.

I stamped it on 2 white cardstocks with navy and brown ink and
distressed all paper edges with inks and distress tool.
I fussy cut out the word "FRIENDS" from the brown image
and mounted them on a piece of frayed natural color
linen ribbon with 3D foam dots.

The phrase on the image "Let us embark on this journey and
together we can realise our wildest dreams" is so sweet.

The card measures 6"x 6".
The DPs are from Pion Designs'
For Father and Studio of Memories collections.
I fussy cut out the butterflies from the DP,
sprayed them with perfect pearl mist and
used them to decorate the card.

Other embellishments I used are:
Dusty Attic chicken wire and swirl chipboards,
Clock face diecut using Tim Holtz die,
TH "Us" lightbulb Vintage Trinkets,
TH Idea-ology Swivel Clasp,
Jute mesh ribbon and cluny lace.

Cream jute mesh ribbon, 18mm cream fine vintage cluny lace,
and 8mm cream vintage fine scallop lace are
all available at the Ribbon Girl Shop.

I also decorated the inside with Pion Designs paper
and Dusty Attic chipboard.

Hope you enjoy this visit, and thanks so much for stopping by.
Have a great weekend!

Hugs,
Katie

Love is in the air - Marvelous Magnolia DT creation

Hello Everyone!

Valentine's Day is just around the corner,
trust you all have something special for your love one.

Today we have a new challenge at Marvelous Magnolia,
we would like to see your creations with HEARTS.

I made an altered project using a heart shape wooden box.
I also made a heart shape tag to go with it.
I will put a few chocolates in the box and give them to my hubby
on Valentine's Day. I hope he likes it.

I stamped the image (Valentino from Magnolia Sweet Crazy Love Collection)
on TAP (Transfer Artist Paper) with Momento ink, and
colored the image with Copic markers.

I then ironed the image onto cotton fabric.
I sewed some fine vintage cluny lace to frame the image,
and added few Guipure lace flower cutouts.

The following laces are all available at The Ribbon Girl Shop.
8mm Cream vinatage style fine scallop lace,
18mm Cream fine vintage style Cluny lace,
19mm Cream flower Guipure lace

Before I adhered the image panel to the lid,
I sewed a piece of batting material under the fabric to
add some cushion and dimension.
I glued a piece of Guipure lace to conceal the fabric edges
around the rim of the lid.

I decorated the rest of the wooden box with designer paper.
The DP is Something Old from Magnolia.
I used the same DP and cut out a heart tag and decorated it with
ribbons, pearl string, lace, key charms, and a sentiment.

Hope you enjoy this visit. Thanks so much for stopping by.

I would love it if you hop over to Marvelous Magnolia
to check out my teammates' creations and
join in the fun and share your creations with us.

Our sponsor this week is Tilda's Town.

Hugs,
Katie

Cuddle Bunny- Guest Design for Digital Delights

Good morning all!

I have a card to share with you today~
A guest design card for Digital Delights blog.
This is my 2nd guest design appearance at Digital Delights, and
I chose Cuddle Bunny digi as my focal image.

I made a step card using this cute image for for my son
so he doesn't get left out on Valentine's Day.

I printed the digi image on white cardstocks and Magnolia DPs.
I carefully cut out the images and paper pieced the bunny.
I highlighted the final image with Copic markers and
added flocks to the nose, tummy, and tail.

I decorated the card with lace, pom pom ribbon, and flowers.
The following items are available at The Ribbon Girl Shop:
Aqua medium pom pom, Tulip flower baby pink,
Cosmo Daisy flower white, Cherry Blossom pink,
8mm Cream vintage style fine scallop lace.

I also decorate the side panels with various die cuts.
Dies and punches used here are from Memory Box, Stampin'Up,
Magnolia DooHickey, and Martha Stewarts.
The sentiments are retired SU rub-ons.

Cuddle Bunny digital image can be purchased at Digital Delights on-line store.
talented designer team offering great inspirational ideas and weekly challenges.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you enjoy this visit.

Hugs,
Katie
